HELP - can't boot after installing new CPU... NTKRNLPA.EXE STATUS

G

Guest

I upgraded my computer with a faster CPU - AMD athalon 64 3700+.
when I try to boot Vista Business, it stops with the error :
ntkrnlpa.exe status 0cx0000211

It suggests me to put my Installation disk... and repair the installation...
the only problem is that all the copies of Vista that I have are upgrades...
and they don't boot....

any ideas?
Thanks
Robert

Yes, a Vista Business DVD has a Repair option, whether it be Upgrade or
Full (If it is the standard off-the-shelf non-OEM one, from Microsoft). You
have to boot from DVD to use it. It is bootable. See:

How to automatically repair Windows Vista using Startup Repair

Too, some OEM disks have a repair option, as well.
