Help! Cannot get mouse or keyboard to work

I cannot get the pointer to move.
I follow Logitech support suggestions, using the tab to go navigate the
Start Menu. I can only get to Control Pane | System. The tab will then go
left/right, but not up/down, so I never get to the device manager dialogue.

Everything else seems to work fine, even icq gets loaded and online, but of
course I cannot do anything because of no mouse or keyboard.

Once you get to the System icon, enter it and with your
arrows go to Hardware, only then use Tab key to go down
to Device Manager. When you get there, try to reinstall
your drivers. I had that happen to me recently. Not
sure of the cause. I even tried Recovery, but that threw
me back too far, losing some of the newer progs. Anyway,
I undid the Recovery, and re-installed the drivers,
successfully. Hope it helps!

Actually I did what you said.
Got to Hardware but couldn't go to device manager because the arrows on the
keyboard only go sideways, not up nor down. To get to device manager I need
the down arrow to work.
Can't even do recovery for the same reason.
