Help and Support problem

Hi all.... I accidentally removed PCHealth from my computer using the
add remove programs utility and now Help and Support doesn't work. I
tried installing by right clicking the .inf file and followed an
elaborate procedure using the following files:

pchdt_p3.cab
hcappres.dll
atrace.dll
dataspec.xml

This removal happened some time ago and I didn't notice anything amiss
because I didn't need help and support. I really don't want to do a
system restore if I can help it because I've added a lot of software
since that time. The thought of reinstalling and configuring this
software is not to palatable. Any suggestions?

Hi

Try the following from Start>Run:

sfc /scannow

and have your XP CD to hand.
Hi Will... Thanks for the reply. I only have the recovery CD that came
with the computer.
Will that do the job?

Nothing happens for me when I choose Help and Support from the start menu
except for a three second hourglass cursor. Suggested fixes on the web have
no affect.

Trying to reinstall pchealth.inf results in request for XP Home Edition SP2
disk for dataspec.xml file; curious, since I downloaded SP2 online. However,
I have a disk, except that file does not exist on it.

Any suggestions? Thanks.
