When I go to Srart and click on Help and Support I receive a message
"Windows cannot open Help and Support because a system service is not
running. To fix the problem, start the service named 'Help and Support'".

Can anyone help me and tell me how to start the system service?

Thank you for any assistance.

Open Services...

Start | Run | Type: services.msc | Click OK |
Scroll down to and double click Help and Support |
On the General tab under start up type set to Automatic |
Click the Apply button | Click the Start button | When the service
starts, click OK | Close Services

Wes,

Thanks for replying so quick!

This is where I was going to turn on the service however there is no Help
and Support listed.

Any other thoughts?

"Help and Support Error" - Service not started:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/helpsvc.htm

Note: However, I'm expecting another problem / possibility. Users who face
this symptom also receive the following error when starting the Help and
Support Service.

"Error 1083 the executable program that this service is configured to run in
does not implement the service"

If that happens, pls post back with the following info:

1. Was the problem caused after installing a MS hotfix, malware cleanup etc?
2. Is the file pchsvc.dll available in the following folder, and what's the
version?

C:\WINDOWS\pchealth\helpctr\binaries

3. What's the Service Pack level of your system?

Ther version is 5.1.2600.2180. I do not recall exactly when the problem
started.

I use XP Professional, Verson 2002, Service Pak 2.

Thanks for your help.
