HELP - AM GOING NUTS

D

Debbie

I upgraded my Internet Explorer a few days ago to Version
6. Nothing but problems ever since. My home page is
Nzoom, and I've set that, but every time I turn on the
computer and go online i-lookup.com opens. It changes
itself. Also keeps changing to Never Dial A Connection.
pop ups happening all over the place, and also when i-
lookup starts opening - porn sites open on the desktop,
and take up the whole screen with no way of shutting them
down without doing CTRL,ALT DELETE.Can anyone help me -
I'm going nuts here,Need the browser for my job and once i-
lookup starts, it won't let me go anywhere else. Do I need
the new patch etc or what do I do?
Thanks, Debbie

And while your at it, get SpyBot at http://www.safer-
networking.org/ What Ad-Aware misses, SpyBot picks up.
Also see if there are any IE6 updates. Finally, to ensure
that you don't get anymore problems, adjust your browser.
Go to Tools, Internet Options, Privacy, select Advanced,
tick Override automatic cookie handling, tick Prompt for
First-Party Cookies, tick Block for Third-party Cookies,
clck OK and close the windows. When you go to a new site,
a window will appear, tick the box above the four options,
and then tick Allow cookies. This will happen to you each
time you visit a NEW site, but otherwise the window will
stop appearing. At the end of your internet session, run
Ad-Aware to zap what has still come through. The only one
that will not be filtered is Red Sherif, for that you need
to install IE-SPYAD found at
http://www.staff.uiuc.edu/~ehowes/resource.htm#IESPYAD
Finally again, add Google bar to your browser, and it will
help to block pop ups. After that, at the end of your
internet session, Ad-Aware will give you a clean bill of
health.
