Headings in Windows Explorer

G

Guest

In the past when looking for files in Windows Explorer in either detail or
icon views, there were headings such as today, yesterday, etc. when sorted by
date modified or file type when sorted by file type. Now that headings have
disappeared. Is there are way to get them back? I'm sure there is, but I
can't figure it out.
Thanks for your help.

Place cursor on Folder containing files and select View, Choose Details.

There is also a "When was it modified " option in Search.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, but that is not exactly what I was looking for. I am
trying to recover the headers, such as today and yesterday when I look at the
list of files in Explorer. I know that they were there a few days ago, but
now they are gone.

Thanks again,
Richard

Are you talking about *history* in Internet Explorer by any chance?

Gordon,

No. I am in Windows Explorer looking at files. Usually in the icon mode
and at the top of the page there used to be a header before the icon that
said "Today" or "Yesterday" or some other words, which I can't remember.

Well I have to say I've never seen anything like that in Windows
Explorer since W95!

You want: View -> Arrange Icons by -> Show in groups

Available in all views except list and filmstrip.
