Header Area - Make it Smaller

I recieve e-mails from my company containing customer information that is
quite long. The header area in the reading pane using '07 is now about 1
1/2" high. Most of that info is either redundent or not necessary for me to
view. The only information I would like there is the categories bar. It
there a way to accomplish this?

you can hide the header so only the subject line shows, but it doesn't
include categories. right click on the edge of the header area and choose
show header to turn it off.

I've been fighting this for a long while. I've also clicked everywhere
around the header, EXCEPT on the edge. Thanks it worked
