HDD problems

i had a brief power outage during format of primary drive got some errors on the primary partition of the primary disk installed XP on secondary partition of the same and now windows doesn't show my second drive, it shows up in Disk management and device manager and partition magic but not in windows...note windows had given it's letter to my dvd-rom i reassigned it to a different letter but i still can't give the drive a letter only option is format. it is fine and healthy any help will be appreciated

Cliff, start over. Delete both partitions and create new ones. Format and
reinstall.
