I just added an HDD to my XP system that was previously in a Win98SE
system. XP doesn't show a letter for the drive. With the Disk
Manager, the drive shows up but no letter is assigned. I would like
to use the drive in the XP system and would also like to retain the
data that is on the disk. What do I have to do?

Sorry for the cross posts, but I wasn't sure which group was
applicable.

to send me a message.

While in Disk Manager, why didn't you give it a Drive Letter?

None of them.

Only hanky boys take it out of the newsgroup and correspond by email.

That option is grayed out.

Is the new drive seen in the BIOS? Did you jumper both drives correctly?
Some drives - like Western Digitals - have different jumper settings
for Master with Slave so you might need to change jumpers on both
drives.
