HCT 12.1.01 Remote Boot Test

Hi All,

I am experiencing problems with the Remote Boot Test in HCT 12.1.01 which
has to be run when testing a complete desktop system.
After setting up the test on both the server and the system under test, the
system boots from the network. After some second the test logs on to the
server, but an error message appears saying that the password is not correct
for the share (TESTLOG).

I'm really out of options at the moment. I'm thinking that maybe a driver is
needed to pass the test, but the image that is used by the test can not be
changed.

Any thoughts anyone?

Thanks,

Rick

Hi,

The remote boot test almost completely automatic. If there is error for
logon, it may be the server setup incorrect. You could check the HCT version
in both client and server. They must be the same. Before run your card,
install a 3C905 or Intel 82559 test first.

In network must includes a DHCP server and PXE server. If you have 2003
server, you can integrate in a single PC. Run HCT pc01rbtk.exe to setup PXE
server.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your reaction.

We found what the issue was... we installed the server with Active
Directory. That didn't work.
Without Active Directory all works fine.

Hi all

I am experiencing exactly the same error message ,I had to promote the server
to a dhcp role as well as it complained about tcp/ip settings when ran
off our router - the test now runs and gets to a point where it wants to
map a drive to the server but then kicks out an error saying: error58 ->
network responded incorrectly, could not map drive to server.

Any ideas whats causing this? I have even tried to map the share drive
on the server manually, but to no avail. current setup has PXE + DHCP
services running on the same machine

thanks
