Having trouble (novice!)

S

Sherry

The story: Windows 2003 Server at work, Windows XP Pro
computer.

At home: Windows ME - but downloaded program "remote
access" that seems to work. It takes me to Windows 2003
log on screen.

I have enabled remote access on server and computer at
work, but when I try to log on at home, it tells me "the
policy of this system does not allow you to log on
interactively!"

Obviously, there's a step I've forgotten!! Anyone have
any suggestions?

Much appreciated.

When you connect from home, you are attempting to logon to the Win2K3
server.. Unless you are a domain admin (or have the proper priveleges
depending on your system setup), you will not be able to log onto this
machine.

In order for you to connect to your particular computer, you either
need to make some changes at your firewall/router (i.e., redirect port
3390 on your router to port 3389 on your XP Pro computer), or you can
set up a VPN which will then allow you to connect to any computer
behind the firewall.
