Having problems with all network printers

J

Javier Villegas

Hi

I have a Windows 2000 Server that is a print server (Is the first DC of
my Forest/AD too)

We have 5 network printers connected via IP to the print server

The last Friday, 3 networks printers started at the same time printing
with strange fonts and the graphics were strange too.

I restarted the "Printer Spool" Service from the Print Server and
everithing start working fine. But the problem is that it happen every 3 or
4 hours since the problem started.

No strange event log appear.

Do you have any suggestion ?

It is a big problem because every time it happen I realise because the
users tell it to me

Thanks in advance

The fact that this happens at regular intervals
simultaneously on 3 different printers gets me thinking
that you've been hacked.
There is an exploit for printers exposed to the Internet.
The Ricoh website gets into it, but so far (knock on wood)
it hasn't been an issue with my customers.
