Have server reply using a specific message

I am trying to have the exchange server 2003 auto reply
when an email arrives address to a test address. the
rule setup fine but when I send a email that will fix the
rule the auto reply is not sent.

Why?

I found this KB http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=292906
but it does not have a workaround.

Was this an auto reply to the internet or within your organisation as Auto
reply to the internet are disabled by default on the Exchange box.
