I have set the "hidden" Attribute on a folder by mistake (long story) and I
can't work out how to undo it (because I can't see the folder now!) - can
anyone help please

Open My Computer. Click on Organize> Folder and Search Options. On the next
screen, click the View tab. Move dot under "hidden files and folders" to
"show hidden files and folders."

Not knowing what you hid, you may need to uncheck "hide protected operating
system files" as well.

Once you can see the folder again, you can use Properties to remove the
hidden attribute.

When finished and if desired, change Folder Options back to hidden.

I'm not sure if System Restore tracks such things...

Have you configured Windows Explorer so that you can view Hidden files and
folders? If not, go to Tools - Folder Options - View and enable it. then you
should be able to find the hidden folder and "un-hide" it.
