Hi, Cal Bear.
Thanks, but...
That driver Zip file is dated 4/23/07, so it's not exactly new. I
downloaded it a month ago from the US site:
http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/support/support_hvr1600.html#beta
Today I see that WinTV Version 6 (dated 6/12/07) is also available there, so
I downloaded it, too. Sadly, nothing on this page works for my
WinTV-HVR-1600. :>(
Well, the drivers (wintv-hvr-1600_64bit_162_25012, downloaded 4/4/07) do let
me use the HVR-1600 in the Media Center in Vista Ultimate x64. But the
WinTV application never finds ANY TV on any channel, either analog or
digital. :>(
My over-the-air omnidirectional antenna in the attic gets 18 analog channels
on my TVs. When I had the ATI AIW 9600 working in WinXP Pro SP2, I could
watch those channels on my computer. But this HVR-1600 gets only about 4
digital channels well enough to watch on that same antenna. I say "about
4", because reception is a sometime thing. Sometimes I can get watchable
signals on 7 or 8 channels; at other times, even my strong channels break up
a lot - or don't come in at all. And it gets NO analog channels.
I also have a Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick plugged in, but, it gets only the
same channels as the Hauppauge. And neither has software that works on my
Vista Ultimate x64 outside the Media Center.
