hardware upgrading Vs OEM reinstallation

1) I have a HP laptop with Windows XP and Office 2003 SBE.

However as my C drive has only a total of 11 GB, space available for other
purposes is limited that affects the efficiency.

I would like to change the 40GB hard isc to an 80 GB. However it is not
clear to me whetehr I can reinstall my OEM software again in to the same
computer or not?

Will it load or refuse to load?

My question in short is, where is the identification of my computer read?

In the hard disc?
In the processor?
In the mother board?
Or somwhere else?

2) If I erase all system restore points to gain more space, does that
opeartion erase the "computer's last known good configuration point" restore
capability also?

Thanks in advance

Dear Mr. Mike Hall,

Thank you very much. Please advice me a little further on using this site
you have referred.

Can I conclude that by using this facility, without any (legal) issues I
will be able to reinstall windows/office etc in the new harddrive and still
continue to enjoy all the rights of the original legal software? I am not a
computer fellow and hence this question.

Thanks once again.

Get the website up and look in the column 'Home and Home Office'.. click on
'free trial download; and then select Acronis TrueImage 10'.. download and
run it.. make sure that you understand each step.. print out the
instructions before using it.. use is relatively easy.. if you do not fully
understand it, get somebody local to help you if possible..
