Hello out there to all the people who still build their own computers. My
problem is thus. I have upgraded my system twice now in 6 months. first my
motherboard and second my CPU. The first time I had to reinstall windows and
lost all my information Passwords, bookmarks, pictures, saved files, programs,
documents, mail, email addressess, game saves, programs that require a
software key based on hardware( similar to microsoft's activation). second I
replaced my cpu and now have lost all my information again. I called
microsoft and they said they could not help after a lengthy tech support
call(long distance). I have litteraly spent weeks in cumulative time fixing,
reinstalling, re establising game saves, getting email addressess, lost
auction information and so much more. I am really getting tired of the IBM
compatables and their software due to the complexity and failure of ease of
use. Why is it so hard to upgrade a computer that you built yourself using
windows xp?

All you have to is do a repair installation after any major hadware changes
such as a Motherboard.
