Hard Drive Recovery

Hi, I hope you are all doing well.

Does anyone know of a utility or whatever I can use to recover disk files
from a hard drive that has lost its operating system and is malfunctioning?
For example, when I boot PC I get Operating System Not Found msg. I can use a
Win98 boot floppy disk to start the PC and change to the C drive. When I use
DIR to get a directory listing from C drive, I only get a partial list of
files. It look like the files are system files/commands and no directories
are present. I do not know if this is because I booted from a Win98 boot disk
or a result of the problem with the hard drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Well, it seems that your disk was in fat32 as the win98 bootdisk can at
least see the partition. Sadly tho, it appears that the FAT is corrupted
and/or the data is gone. The fix all depends on how much money you want
to spend on recovering any data. Good thing you got it backed up tho eh?
