I just installed a new WD 120GB IDE hard drive.
Prior to this install I had two drives, 1 Maxtor 30GB, and 1 WD 10GB. I had
the Maxtor set up as a master, and the WD 10GB set up as slave. Everything
worked great, and the HD light functioned correctly.
Now I installed the new 120GB as the master, with the Maxtor drive as a
slave. The problem that I have now, is when both drives are hooked up, the
hard drive LED doesn't work. It rarely ever comes on. If I hook the new
drive up with no slave, the LED works fine. I've tried two different drives
as slaves, everytime I hook up a slave, the LED doesn't work.
Is there something special I need to do?
