Hard Drive is showing as a raw drive?

My EIDE 70GB IBM Deskstar is showing up as a 1.19GB drive
with no volume lable and file system is FAT instead of
FAT32 and all i see on the drive is a bunch of files
named 2ó , å₧ , ...
This occoured after installing a SCSI Toshiba DVD Drive
which works fine. . I have since removed the SCSI Toshiba
DVD Drive and still same problem. Running chkdisk results
in the following message

Cannot load VDM IPX/SPX support
Microsoft(R) Windows DOS
(C)Copyright Microsoft Corp 1990-2001.

C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1>chkdsk d: /f
The type of the file system is RAW.
CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives.

I HOPE TO GOD someone knows what has occoured and has a
fix

Check cabling, could be either a duff cable or the drives are not
configured correctly. Disabling the BIOS on the SCSI card may help.

Try using Norton Utilities to recover the disk as chkdsk will not
work.
There is some info in 'Help and Support' if you search under 'Disk
Management'.
