Hello again....

I was given a 40g Maxtor HD that is still in warranty, but it doesn't seem
to "power up" So, Powermax doesn't find it. Maybe there is no solution to
this, Maxtor may RMA it without Powermax being run on it.....if you have an
idea or two, let me know.

further to this....when I mean power up I meant say the drive is not
spinning...

The HD should spin with only the power cable applied. If it does not,
make sure the power connector pins are not bent or failing to make
contact. If there is no such problem, send it back for replacement.

Yes, they will definitely RMA it without a Powermax code in
this situation... providing the drive was under valid
warranty as it seems is the case.

I tried 3 connectors....no power, I have passed this on to Maxtor,,,will
await their reply
