I'm running Windows XP Home Edition, on a Dell Demension
4300S with 512MB RAM, 1.6 Ghz Processor, and I had
purchased a brand new 120 GB hard drive to replace my
original 20 GB Dell hard drive about a year ago. Since
then, my computer has been running fine, but only
recently since I have formatted my new hard drive, I have
been recieving this message when my computer boots:
----------------------------------------------------------
DELL
Dimension 4300
BIOS Revision A04
"WARNING: Dell's Disk Monitoring System has detected that
drive 0 on the primary EIDE controller is operating
outside of normal specifications. It is advisable to
immediately back up your data and replace your hard-disk
drive by calling your support desk or Dell Computer
Corporation.
Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup
utility."
----------------------------------------------------------
I've found no problems at all using the hard drive,
everything boots and runs correctly once the F1 key is
pressed. Is there any sort of BIOS upgrade or chipset
driver that would fix this problem? I have contacted
Dell, I'm still waiting on a reply.. Please help.. Any
information would be greatly appreciated..
