Halo PC : Alt + \ kicks me to desktop

I've always used the Alt and Backslash keys to Strafe
left and right in shooter games. Now in Halo they will
minimize the game and send me to the desktop. It acts
just like the Alt+Tab hotkey combination. Anyone know if
I can I disable this somehow, or could it be a bug. I'm
using Win XP Home.

is there option inside game to change user settings?
check game help
is the game set for win98?
use compatibility mode:

select desired object
right click -> properties
compatibility tab
make desired changes
done

Check the Options section in the game, although I believe that's a system
configuration which cannot be changed. There is absolutely no need to use
Compatibility Mode.

Robert, please stop suggesting Compatibility Mode for everything. In some
cases it doesn't apply, and you're just confusing the users who are seeking
assistance. Halo is written for Windows XP, is brand new this month and
certainly doesn't need Compatibility.
