hal.dll - blue death screen.

Do you have any idea what's causing this error:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was:

0x0000000a(0x00000058,0x00000002,0x00000001,0x8006543a)
Microsoft Windows 2000 (v15.2195). A dump was saved in C:\WINNT\
MEMORY.DMP.

I've also seen the same thing on the blue death screen with HAL.DLL.

This is happening on all of our Windows servers. All of them do have
Windows Server SP4 installed. Including all the updates via
windowsupdate.micrsoft.com. The only thing we didn't install is the .NET
services.

These servers (4) would reboot at least once or twice a day with this error.

These servers are Compaq DL380 G2 with 4GB of RAM and 2 P4 CPUs.

Thanks for any help,
Christopher

Do you have Backup Exec 8 on your servers? If so disable
the open file option which can cause sporadic reboots or
contact Veritas for an update to the 0tman5sys driver

When did the problem start? What changed on these servers? Other than being
Compaqs, what software/hardware do these servers have in common? Have you
tried updating the HP Proliant Support Pak? Have you tried updating the
Windows 2000 Drivers from Compaq's web site?
