Hi, please could someone help with this issue.
I am using OSD to deploy XPSP2 to 7 different desktops ie Dells, HPs
and Compaqs and 4 different laptops ie Dell and Compaq.
Osd deploys without problems to all the desktops but the laptops
shutdown and won't reboot after the image has been installed. I know
that the laptops use different versions of hal.dll, ntkrnlpa.exe and
ntoskrnl.exe. Is this the reason that the laptops won't boot?
Do I need to create a seperate image for the laptops?
Please can anyone suggest a workaround if there is one.
Alternatively I could replace those 3 files in a desktop version of the
image, shut the machine down, ghost it and restore the image to one of
the laptops. This wouldn't be ideal as the client wants a single image.
(Would that work?)
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Gary
