Attempting to connect 3 PCs across Home 802.11 WAP (WAP is hardwired out to
internet through DSL service).

Keeping it simple with Simple File sharing enabled on all PC systems with
all PCs seeing each other in the work group. When attempting to connect from
PC#1 to PC#2 dialogue box opens showing user name = "PC#2/Guest" and asks for
password...I have no clue what the password is (I tried to set in user
accounts to no avail).

On PC#2:

1. Type this line at a command prompt to enable the Guest account for
networked access:

net user guest /active:yes

2. Remove any network password from the Guest account:

a. Click Start > Run.
b. Type "control userpasswords2" in the box and click OK.
c. Click Guest.
d. Click Reset Password.
e. Click OK without entering a new password.

Executed everything as you instructed (very clear, thanks!!). Accessing from
PC#1 still unsuccessful, no dialogue box with request for password, rather
the standard "\\PC#1 is not accessible. You might not have....."

Hmmh, I don't know what to ask as I have been on both PC#1 and PC#2 and
executed all the Networking Wizard tasks, etc.....

What could trigger the change in status by simply activating the Guest
account??
