guest account restrictions (IE)

Hi,

Just wondering if it is possible to restrict the 'guest' user from
browing the internet using IE. For various reasons, I have to enable the
guest account for a while (with password) to allow a couple of people to
use the computer. But I do not want them to use Internet Explorer for
browsing (this would of course be different in IE 7 I guess). I would
rather that they used one of the other browsers I have installed.

In windows explorer, set the permissions for IE to
guest-deny

Don't use the Guest account for this purpose. Instead, make a "Visitor"
account and set it up with restrictions as you like. If you have XP
Pro, use the Group Policy Editor to set restrictions on the Visitor
account. For questions about Group Policy, post here:
microsoft.public.windows.group_policy

If you have XP Home, make the Visitor account Limited and look at either
Doug Knox's Security Console or the Microsoft Shared Computer Toolkit:

I guess this is an even better approach; I am not comfortable with using
the guest account anyway. I have XP Pro and I will give the above
newsgroup a try, after I do some background reading on this topic.

Thanks,
Sam.
