guest account has been logged into

I have always had the guest account off and never used it. But I was
surprised when I ran Belarc Advisor to see that the guest account had been
logged onto two days ago?
I then logged onto the guest account this morning and belarc now shows that
I did.
Would there have been a hacker accesssing the guest account the other day?

Ah. This is something I've run into. Even though Control Panel-Users shows
the guest account is off, if you go to control panel-Administrative
tools-Computer management-Users and Groups it will tell you the guest
account is ON!!!! Turn it off there.
WHY on earth MS decided that if you turn off guest account in Control
Panel - user accounts it isn't really turned off, I have no idea! Just more
not-joined-up thinking from MS I guess.

It's used for networking between XP machines... by default, machines that
are not in a domain will attempt to authenticate as Guest.
