Group Policy Editor: XP vs. 2K

Hello Group,

the Group Policy Editor in Windows 2000 SP4 in the part "folder redirection"
allows to specify the Target Folder Location with variables, like

\\SHARE\USERS\%USERPROFILE%\Profile

However, this is not possible in Group Policy Editor in Windows XP: an
attempt to enter anything with % results in error message.

Is it so intended? is it documented somewhere? is there perhaps some other
"enhanced" mode to run it so the variables could be entered and seen?

thanks,

hey,

I am running XP and have the ability to redirect using variables - for
example i am redirecting my documents using the \\server\share\%USERNAME%\

if you still have problems, use the create a folder under the root path
option - this will create a directory on the share using the username
