grinding noise (ntosboot wuauclt)

For the past few days, I am getting a brief grinding or buzzing noise from my
hard drive (apparently) the first time I use Internet Explorer after booting
up. According to my GoBack logs, the two following files are modified and
replaced about this time, NTOSBOOT-BOODFAA0.pf and WUAUCLT.EXE-399A8E72.pf.
Nothing else seems to be happening. I also heard the same noise recently
when McAfee Virusscan 8 was about to download some new DAT files. Is this a
sign of serious trouble? Can anyone help me get rid of the noise?

A hard drive in use makes some noise as it is being read/written to. If you
are hearing a noise you haven't heard before, it COULD be a sign of pending
failure, or it COULD be nothing. It wouldn't hurt to have it looked at
though, before any damage occurs.

If it is the worst case scenerio, and you need a hard drive, they are
relatively cheap these days. You do have back up of your data so you can
put it on the new bigger faster drive don't you?
