Grep

Hello

Help with "GREP" and VISTA

I have used several of the grep utilities that are shareware and they seem
to have the same issues. When searching a specific file or for *.log these
programs only read the shadow copy of the file.

I think I can turn off the Shadow Copy and It should work fine. But I
like that feature for dealing with logs. Is there a way to force
the filename to the actual copy? Or any other suggestions?

If you're just wanting to find and read logs, see if Agent Ransack will
work with Vista. It's a great, free searching program that I always use
on XP boxen. I haven't tried it with Vista so YMMV. This isn't grep, but
it might meet your needs.

Well thanks for the suggestion. I have tried this exe
and it also is reading the first version of the file
and not the current one.
