Graphics Editor

In 2002 I could right-click on a photo and FP would open the photo in my
graphics editor. I thought in 2003 FP would have the ability to open a photo
with a left-click or double-click and even give a choice of editors.

Now I can't open a photo at all in 2003. I looked in Tools/Options/Configure
Editors and my editor is there along with MS Office Picture Manager for jpg,
jpeg, gif and png files.

Is there something else I need to do to get FP to open a graphic? Thanks.

For the very best results do all your image editing outside of FP and then
IMPORT them into the correct place within your site.

Sometimes, however, I may decide that I want to do something more to an
image after I see it on the page. If I double-click it, it automatically
goes to my Photoshop elements, and I get the same results as if I had edited
it before putting it in FP. One thing, though: I don't directly save it back
to my web folder. I go through the 'save for web' routine all over again,
save it outside the web, and import it again.

In FP 2000, you double-click it. I don't know about FP 2003.

Gary:

Right click either the image on a page in "Design Mode" or right click the
file in "Folder view" then select Open With / Then your Image Editor.

If you want to set you favorite image editor as the default editor in the
"Tools/Options/Configure" window select jpg or whatever file type in the
"Extensions" list then your editor in the "Editors" list and then click the
"Make Default" button.

If your favorite editor is not listed click on the :New Editor" button above
the list, browse to your editor, select it then hit the Make Default button.

No, that should be enough. If Tools/Options/Configure
Editors is configured so that jpg files are associated
with your editor, then right-clicking a picture and
choosing Open With should display an option for using
that editor.
