Graphics do not show in edit mode

All of a sudden when I open a page in Frontpage, none of the graphics show on
the page. The graphics haven't been moved and are visible when displayed on
the 'net.
What did I do to have them disappear? Only thing showing is the picture
placeholder.

Do you actually have a web open first before you open the page?

Yes... I open up my website through FP and then open a page. None of the
grahics on the page appear.

are the graphics in flash or java shows?
they will only show in preview not design

if they are jpg or gifs they should be visible unless they are linked to
somewhere
instead of inside the web folders

Curiously the same thing happened to me. All the images were jpg format. I
tried recalculating hyperlinks and detect and repair. All the file paths
were correct so I couldn't understand why the images wouldn't appear in edit
mode but would in preview. Finally after exhausting all possible causes I
rolled my XP system back a week and everything was fine.
