Graphics Card

I had previously purchased a video card from nVidia. I returned it for the
following reasons:

When I tried to install it, it would keep on saying that I had to unistall
the previous drivers of my video card. I tried doing that and it wouldn't
work. When they finally unistalled them, I rebooted and tried installing the
nVidia drivers, but it still wouldn't let me. I checked on the programs menu
on the control panel, and it was still there. Then the next time I rebooted,
at the beggining there was display, but when the computer was ready to load
the log-on screen, it would turn completely black. I tried to change my
monitor the nVidia card, and it was displayed there. What was the problem?

I was exited that it would Aero would work, but when I opened the Task
Manager, it was still basic. It hadn't worked, so I returned it. I simply did
a system restore, turned off the computer instead of restarting, removed the
video card, and everything was back to normal. I just purchased one that was
compatible online and I will recieve it next week.

Will the same thing occur?

Or what did I do wrong?

That's something only the card vendor can help you with. It should have
worked the first time. Did you try to uninstall the driver in Safe Mode?
