Graphics card wont install

I followed the proper procedure for installing a new graphics card whe
I first tried. I even reinstalled the old graphics card and wen
through the procedure again and uninstalling the SIS Accelerate
Graphics Port but to no avail.
I had also tried to install a Radeon 7500 which I know works on XP o
another computer but the same thing happened, It would not install. I
my only option now to do a clean install of XP?

Do not uninstall the SIS Accelerated Graphics Port....AGP
Your 9600 is an AGP card is it not??
