GPOs for software distribution

Hi there,

Can anyone help me with the following. I am just in the middle of an inter
(not intra) forest migration from Win2003 AD to Win2003 AD. Anyway, as part
of this I have setup a forest trust between the old and the new forest (each
forest consists of 2 domains (although not parent and child if that makes
sense - trees ?)).

Everything works fine apart from the GPOs that I have migrated for software
distribution. I have done this using GPMC and translated everything
accordingly but the clients in the new domain will not install the software
(the source for which is still in the old domain). I am getting the
following events

102 followed by 303 followed by 108

102 is the key one here - The installation source for this product is not
available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.

Immediately I thought permissions but I can do a dir of the format
\\<server_in_old_domain>\share$\<folder_in_question> which works fine. I
then thought that maybe this is down to computer account permissions and
granted NEWDOMAIN\Domain Computers and NEWDOMAIN\Domain Users FC over both
the share and the NTFS permissions, again to no avail.

(I have read the KB article btw for this which was of no help - i.e. check
computer accounts have permission)

Can anyone point me where I may be going wrong ?!? Or is it a simple case
that you can't have a Swdist source in a different forest, even if you have
all of these permissions ???

Clients are SP SP2 btw and OS is 2003 R2 in both forests...

Thanks

Ben.
