Hi Guys,

I was trying to disable installations of some programs in windows 2000 professiona machine. But I unknowingly have disabled all of the programmes on my machine including gpedit.msc. Whenever i try to run any of the exe i get an error saying

"This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer"

How do i rollback the error that i am getting so that i may use the computer like before.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. I am not restarting or Shutting down my machine since i am not sure whether it will boot properly.

Regards
Clifford

try this one ...

Click Start, Run and type this command exactly as given below:

REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

there is no space in policies ...

Note to Ian ... IAN, the "code tag" is screwing this up
