i have the limited or no connectivity msg on a wireless network

(HP laptop /Intel Pro wireless 2200BG / XPH)

I tried all the usual suspects and finally resorted to reinstalling the OS.
Still the same, so I updated software and drives to latest Intel pro
wireless...still the same.

When I set static IP I get connection.

But wirelessly the pc cannot see the router. I have other notebook than
connects wirelessly no problems.

You need to have the router enabled to be a DHCP server. Look in the router
configuration and enable DHCP server.

Have you set up MAC filtering on the router?

Tow reason you are having this message:
1- Your Laptop wireless not authenticated to the Wireless Network,
because you are entering the wrong Encryption Key (WEP/WPA-PSK).

2- The Windows wireless Zero configuration is not started or not stated
Automatically and you need to Check the Services for it.

3- There is an Extra Option your Firewall blocking the connection.

Did you ever able to connect with this Laptop?.
Have a look in the Event Viewer under Network Adapter and see if the Device
malfunctioning or there is a conflict .
More Info about your Network will more appreciated and helpful to your
situation!.
