Google search?

I've used the Google search bar for yonks but now when I do a search all I
get is links to porn sites!!!
I have Ad-Aware pro and Grisoft running so any suggestions are welcome..

I'm not sure what you are searching for but google always gets me the most
relavant info.
If you are searching for terms that may have 2 meanings you can always use
"Google's SafeSearch" for filtering under preferences.

It could be what's called a webpage hijacker. If you know what you are doing
download a little file called Hijack This! from the Internet and run it and
see if there are any unsavoury browser hijackers on your system. Use it
carefully and don't delete anything you are not sure of.

Try Spybot Search and Destroy version 1.3 as well to see if that comes up
with anything.

the Google bar!! if I type in say (review of Rainmaker film) all I get is
links to porn sites!!
I deleted the Google bar then reinstalled but still the same!!
Help!!!

Hi Grumps,
It does sound very much as though Google has been hijacked. In your
place I would take Andy's advice and download 'HijackThis' from
http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/

Run it and post the log file here - that's if you fancy a bit of 'do
it yourself'. Just do not delete anything you are not sure of and be
careful over things you think you are. It told be that having two
versions of 'LoadPowerProfile' in the 'msconfig' file was not a good
idea - which it is.

A hijacking entry may have been placed into your HOSTS file that redirects
the google domain over to the porn site. I'm not sure of the most efficient
method to check and/or correct this. Perhaps someone else can give more
detailed instructions?

I have the same problem and it's proving a real bitch to get rid of. Every
time I search for anti-hijack software I pages of porn sites.

Update. I ran Hijack this and deleted all the '03' entries. god knows what
they do or how buts its cured it.
