Google search problems in IE not Netscape

Hello.

PC system info:

Windows ME
Internet Explorer 6
56K dialup

Problem using Google while in IE (not in Netscape) so believe it must be IE
related problem. Have used Google for
years and never experienced this problem:

Type in string of keywords...first page of search comes up OK...click to go
to the next page and the search is
for the first word only of the string of keywords (i.e. 1st search: " how to
build waterfall....2nd search "how").
Even adding the + between each word still results in the same.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Thank you.

Are you using the Google toolbar (latest version)? or the Google explorer
bar or searching from the Address bar.

The newest version of the Google Toolbar also changes the default
URLSearchHook for IE (Netscape is uneffected).
This is so you can use the feature to navigate to a site by just entering
the name ie. msn i/o www.msn.com.

Google results use pagination (all of the results are returned to the server
but are paged out to the client)

You see this when you click the next page in the Google results. The search
query is built and resubmitted

eg.

http://www.google.com/search?q=google+toolbar&hl=en&lr=&start=20&sa=N

which basically says get all search results for 'google toolbar', display
one page at a time starting (start=20) from the 20th. It is strange that
only certain words of your original search phrase are resubmitted. Perhaps
they are site keywords?

Google also has safe searching which may filter certain keywords from your
search?

Thank you Rob for responding to my question.

I've been using version 2.0.114.9.deleonen (GGLD) for several years (there
is a newer 3.0 version?). Never had this problem with the 2.0 version until
last week. Don't know what could have changed.

I used to be able to just type in a string of keywords (without using + ).
Each page would display search findings for ALL the keywords. I've e-mailed
Google about the problem.

If you have any more ideas as to what could suddenly cause this problem in
IE6, please let me know.
