Google Search Page fills Desktop Screen, Strange Behaviour.

This PC has WIN XP Home SP3 and is using IE8.
Sometimes after bootup or after closing a screen, a Google Search Screen
appears over the Desktop, sometimes with the START and TRAY Icons visible and
sometimes it occupys the entire screen, no START or TRAY is visible.
Typed above the Search Panel are the words "Enter your Email Address and
this Window will automatically close" and below "After completing, your
download will start immediately". I don't really know where this came from. I
think it could have happened when I was updating the freshly installed
AVG8.5, but not certain. It may have been a Popup or Malware activity. It
even happens when I boot from Safe Mode. At this point all attempts to
identify and correct it have failed. AVG8.5-Clean, Trojan Remover-Clean,
Windows Defender-Clean, MalwareBytes-Found Items of concern-Corrected, but
the Google Screen still came up a short time after boot.
This problem has got me whacked out.
I am hoping like hell, an XP Expert can come up with a fix for this one. I
am not game enough to run sfc on this HP Pavillion yet, due to HP's strange
Setup and Recovery system. If sfc stuffs up HP system, I am down the tube
with a lot of Programs I no longer have Install discs for.
I have my fingers crossed.

It reads more like Spyware than other forms of malware.. run the following:

SuperAntispyware

Hello Elmo,
I have now resolved this problem without taking drastic action.
Explanation: The last time this Google Search Page appeared, there was an
Icon like a Disc towards the right top of page. I clicked on it to see what
would happen.
It was an Options Dialog Box. One of the Options was "Do not Start
Automatically" plus Uninstall, Properties, etc. I selected "Do not Start
Automatically". Bingo, no more Google screen appearing two mins after bootup.
A search of Googles shows this exe file as being associated with a number of
Programs, none of which are on this PC.
I hope this is the last I see of this NASTY.
Thank You.
