A client of mine has a PC running WIN 2000 SP4 and IE
6.0.2800 that will not search from the address bar, even
though it is enabled. Also, the browser will navigate to
http://www.google.com but it freezes on any search. In
fact, you can't click on anything on Google's site without
it freezing. I have also posted to Google's groups and a
few other people are having the same problem. However,
most of them are using XP. I have tried editing the
registry, uninstalling/reinstalling both IE 6.0 and WIN
2000, and numerous patches and fixes. None of them worked.
I uninstalled IE 6.0 and tried using 5.0 and 5.5; same
result, Google searches and a few other pages just freeze.
I did try using Safe Mode and had some success. At least
the address bar searches worked, but Google itself didn't.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Phillip
