There is not such thing as compatibility in reality, only marketing
claims. Why buy a new printer with the latest technology in design and
ink (ink is part of the design) and then lower the quality of the
results and possibly damage the printer with inferior ink. Since the
relabelers do not properly disclose the formulator and what they are
selling the quality of their websites are poor.

Thanks for your reply but realistically I cannot go out and buy an
InkJet Printer and pay an arm and a leg in Original InkJet Cartridges costs,

I am looking for good advice on using Epson Chip Resetters ,Refilling
Systems,Reinking Systems and Compatible Inkjet Cartridges the same
applies to Canon Inkjet Cartridges alias I think you have to buy a new
chip each time how effective are all these devices?

For the UK where are the Good Suppliers or One Stop Shop for all this
equipment or do I have to get it in the States?

Ignore the resident newsgroup troll. He's been pushing overpriced Canon
products for years - to no avail. I've been running all my printers -
3 of them - on home refill ink for years. The oldest model (i860) died
after barely a month of use. The printhead and paper feed failed
simultaneously. It was a total lemon that Canon replaced and it is still
working perfectly today, several years later, and with the same inks. Two
others, an iP5000 and an iP4000 have been working flawlessly as well.
The iP5000 was bought in late 2004. I would like to move up to the
latest models but my current printers won't die - even though Measekite
predicted they would soon croak, seize up, clog, fail, and die! Need I
add that Measekite was proven wrong (not that anyone ever believed
him!). My color prints are excellent, long lasting, the printers are
working as they should, and I have saved a couple of thousand dollars
in the process. And I couldn't be happier. Can you see my CREST
smile...? :)

Hello Heidy,
You will find lots of sites for info and ink if you search
in Google. When I need a new cartridge I use Inkcycle they are less
than half price; postage paid, both ways if you need to send one back
and in place of - in my case a new cart with 19ml they fill to 40 ml.
I have been refilling my HP cartridges for some years now with
excellent results. BUT! When you first start it can be very messy.
Points of note - refill as soon as one runs out, if it's been standing
for long - forget it. A good thing to do for a start is to buy a refill
kit as they have ink and directions with it, Asda do one at about £8.
But after learning do get the same ink that you know is good. There
are 1000s of different carts and you select the one for your printer.
You'll need a syringe for each colour and a bigger one to blow air
in to force ink out if a jet doesn't print. a good thing to do with any
cartridge old or new is to wrap it in a kitchen towel ( Of which you
need many) and swing it round at arms length until you see the ink
coming out. There's lots more but try this for a start. There are so
many different printers I feel sure you won't be able to refill all types
so be careful - mine is an old Hp deskjet I got for 4 guid on the market.
Do Use Google for lots of advice.
The best of luck.
John.

Heidy - You've just met our very own anti-aftermarket ink troll. He has
never tried any of these products and does not speak from experience - he
just expresses his bias over...and over...and over again. If you can't get
the answers you want here try the Nifty-stuff Forum. Mostly Canon info, but
there are also participants who use Epson and other printers. Please to to
that forum site and first do some homework and reading on it before you ask
questions.

Maybe you should consider a Laser printer.

He already replaced one printhead and suffers more rapid fading and
worse quality. He also has to buy generic ink from more than one
relabelr because he knows that some of the claims for pigmented black
are not accurate.
