god, cant install wd beta OR new formal edition!!

i installed the wd beta several days ago
when fomal edition was released,i uninstalled it from control panel
then installed the new edtion,but this formal edition cant update
the definitons,so uninstalled it from control panel ,either

now,when i reinstall the new formal edtion,XP SYS just shows;cant remove
the older edition!
when i reinstall the beta edition,tell me :there is a newer edition in ur sys

wot should i do noww?how can clear all rubish related to wd??thanx

1.- Can you gº to Windows Update, select Express (Get high-priority
updates), and apply all offered updªtes

2.- Install Windows Installer 3.1 v2 (3.1.4000.2435)

Locate your file msi.dll (with search if you are not sure where it's
located) and confirm what the version is, either from it's properties or just
passing your cursor over it. If it's not the latest which is 3.1.4000.2435,

Use it to remove both Windows Defender... items listed. You should then
reinstall Windows Defender, and, if you wish, uninstall it again.

If you use a version of Microsoft Office which is covered by Office Update,
you hould check whether you are able to update via that mechanism still.

MSI cleanup utility sometimes has some side effects and should be used as a
last resort.


5.- I'd recommend re-downloading, and saving to a known location--like the
desktop.

After the download is complete, disable real-time protection by your
antivirus for long enough to do the installation.

Please disable or turn off as much other software that always runs as you
can--real time antivirus scanning, any other antispyware software, (Stop all
programs that are open in the bottom taskbar) etc.
