Gliches in soundtrack at every video transition

John Hearn

I'm new to Movie Maker and video editing in general.
I have made a video comprising of a number of short video
clips, over layed by one mp3 audio track. Wherever there
is a transition from one video clip to another there is
an audible gliche in the audio track. This is regardless
of the type of transition selected.

Any ideas how to cure this problem?
TIA
John

Presumably u are saving in DV AVI?

Make the movie in two passes.
First pass: save the video with transitions but no sound
Second pass: use the first pass output and apply the sounds.

Otherwise save as WMV where there are less glitches but some minor quality
loss.
Also see this thread on Movie Makers newsgroup

You say make it in two phases and apply the sound to the
first pass output.

I tried saving the video without sound, as a movie. How
do I then open that saved movie clip as a new project and
add the sound?

The only way I can see to do it is to open a new project
and import the movie clip into the collection. I tried
this and then added the movie clip to the timeline, only
to find it was only the first two original video clips!!!

I'm new to this, so please bear with me.
cheers
John
I tried opening The use the first pass output

You might have better results if you first convert your music to a WAV
file and use that instead.

MM might be trying to re-think the audio at the transition. MP3s are
compressed and every moment does not have all the audio information.
MM is probably getting confused. WAV files don't have that limitation.
