"Ghost" folder

Frank Smith

I have a folder that is a mirror image of a valid folder and have no idea
where it came from - and I cannot get ride of it.
The Properties of the "ghost" folder show a path to the valid one.
If you delete a file in the "ghost" - the file is gone in the valid one.

The name of the "ghost" is very close to the valid one - causing some
confusion to the Users.

How can I get ride of the "ghost" in the Directory structure?

You'd have to give us the name of the folder. XP makes duplications of some
data in standard folders if you have made your own. For example I made a
folder called My Documents directly under my C:\ drive. That way I don't
have to manipulate through Documents and Settings then "owner", or "user",
or Administrator to find the My Document folder within that area. I'm the
only one on this computer so I don't sign in as anything. It just says
"Welcome" during boot and continues.

I've found that any document I create in C:\My Documents also appears in
C:\Documents & Settings\Owner\Owners Documents. I also made a folder C:\My
Music for my MP3s. Anything in C:\My Music also appears in C:\Documents &
Settings\Owner\Owners Documents\My Music.

If I ever have multiple sign ins I would probably delete those folders I
created and accept having to dork around in Explorer to find My Music under
Owners listing. But I guess I could find it once, right click it and create
a shortcut there for a desktop icon.
