Getting started and signing in

Hi I am new in this board. When I open the forum page, I am told to read the
Getting Started, and to sign in on the Sign in button at top of page.
Where can I find Getting Started, and there is not a Sign in button any
where on the page. I sign in by going to "New" on the left top corner of the
page.Thanks.

This is not a "board," it's a newsgroup. You are using the awful web
interface to read this newsgroup--it's the slowest, clunkiest, most
error-prone method there is. Do yourself a favor and switch to a
newsreader, such as Outlook Express, which comes with Windows. See

There is nothing you have to do but post your question

Thanks for the correction on semantics. I will check the newsreader you
recommend, and see how it works.

You're welcome, but I didn't at all mean it as a semantic correction.
I rather meant to point out that you are accessing this newsgroup the
worst way possible, and the problems you describe are caused by that
way.

I also didn't mean to recommend a particular news reader (Outlook
Express is not even the one I use). I recommended a newsreader *such
as* Outlook Express, and mentioned that name because you already have
the software and Outlook Express is a very easy way to get started
using a newsreader. I certainly am not against your choosing a
different news reader that you may prefer later on, once you have
enough Outlook Express experience to know which news reader features
are important to you.
