GETPIVOTDATA - turn off this function

Is there a way to turn off the "GETPIVOTDATA" function? I want to create my
own formulas outside of a pivot table and copy this formula down. I do not
want to modify this automatic formula that pops up.

There's a button on the Pivot table Toolbar to toggle this feature on/off. You
may have to add the button from the list available.

The only way I know of is to enter the formula the old fashioned way, by
entering the references manually.
