getpivotdata excel2000

I have problems with the syntex of the Excel 2000 getpivotdata when i
comes to getting data for a field with many criterias. I get #REF o
#NA when I tried.
The examples shown in many Help Topics are too simple! Are there an
more difficult/detailed examples available?

I tried using getpivotdata(___, "region north area David 'Sum of sale
yen'") but it doesn't work.

Example:
David
Sum of sales
yen
region
north
area 20000
south
east
west

Based on your example, the following should work:

=GETPIVOTDATA(A5,"North Area David")
