Get External Data

In my Excel 2007 workbook the Get External Data buttons are grayed out. Why
are they disabled and how can I enable them? I am in Compatibity Mode.

Hi,

Compatibility Mode should make no difference. The most common problem is
when users are in Group mode - check the title bar for [Group]. This means
more than one sheet is selected, if so right-click the sheet tab and choose
Ungroup Sheets.

These commands are also inactive if the workbook is in Share mode.

If this helps, please click the Yes button

Hi Shane,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

The title bar does not contain [Group] on any of the worksheets.

To check for Share mode, I looked in Review/Changes/Share Workbook. The
"Allow changes by more than one user at the same time. This also allows
workbook merging." is unchecked. Is this where to check for Share mode or am
I looking at the wrong thing?

Any other suggestions?
